I liked that the residents with dementia and Alzheimer’s were in a separate secured area for their own safety. The downside was the size because it had over 300 beds and that was too overwhelming for what I wanted. My sister is at The Timbers of Cass County.
Seniors who don’t need nursing home care may consider more affordable arrangements, such as in-home care or assisted living, instead. My husband was in Celebrate Senior Living of Niles just this past month. He wasn’t even there for two weeks and now he’s in the hospital. He’s in the nursing home section and they have a floor that’s strictly for that.

It was great, but it was just really confined. They had more cameras than a casino in there. Their staff was more hands on, and food was always brought to you.

It is not enormous, but it is much larger than most urban facilities' outdoor spaces and provides trees, plantings, a walking path, and shady places to sit and relax or visit. The interior feels dated, stodgy and worn; fully ready to be renovated, updated, and upgraded. The rooms are adequate but not overly large, and most are shared. Again it is reported that remodeling and upgrading are in process, and the rooms would benefit.
The staff was very unprofessional and didn’t follow protocol. Too many issues but with it being one of the only rehab centers with a dialysis center we didn’t have much of a choice to put our loved one there. This guide explores costs of nursing home care in Niles and nearby cities, prices for other types of care and resources for residents in the Cook County area.
Nursing Homes in Niles, IL
There are no funny smells or anything like that when I come in. They keep a really good schedule with the food. They have designated time for people to eat. The activities director tries to get everybody involved. The reason they’re getting a 3-star rating is that they have some exceptional people working there and then a few, and then everybody else.

After three weeks of bites I personally checked her mattress and found bed bugs!!! Grateful to know what was biting her however very upset with the neglect we experienced from the staff and directors at the facility. Upon discovery the bed bugs I was given a roll of trash bags and a check list on what I needed to do before Arrow would come to spray for bed bugs!!!
Some nurses don’t even know how to prop up a stroke patient.. Leave her laying flat and nothing under her arms. Was there last night for 6.5 hours and never received any medicine. I have lots more similar complaints over the last three months..

My husband was at Creekside Village for a while. There’re shared units with a shared bathroom, but it’s separate where you don’t have to be in contact with your roommate.
My father is in Ascension Living Saint Benedict Village. The staff is very good and very helpful. They’ve been very attentive to his needs. They were also able to set up extra physical therapy for him.
They had a rehab room, outdoor courtyards, and recreational activities. However, it’s an older facility and needs modern updating. Save time with an easy-to-understand breakdown of services and fees. To all of you at the Chalet of Niles, I want to say a big thank you for all the care "Gene" received at your facility. I never thought in a million years, that he would be home, but with all of you and your patience and good food WE MADE IT. Thanks again. Aunt stayed for 2 weeks while primary caregiver was out of town.
I complained to the directors and staff that something was biting her. After doing my own investigating I found out there had been 2 cases of bed bugs in the facility. Her mattress was never properly inspected for bed bugs by the directors or staff.
It’s run by a ministry, it has the religious services that my mom needs, the website is fantastic, the dining area, and the activities for the residents. I’ve tried the food, and it’s adequate. Right now they’re limited but in every floor, there’s a TV room, a dining room, a library, and there’s a chapel there.
